Sunday followUP: niteLIFE
God’s work in us is unable to be described as anything other than a miracle – He took what was dead in sin and, through the power of His Spirit, brought it to life. Steve High, our Student Ministries Pastor, spoke last night at niteLIFE on this idea continuing our series through Galatians titled, No Other Gospel. The passion of the Christian life should be to dwell in the presence of God, but too often we believe its centrality rests in our performance. As a result, our views on things like reading the bible, going to church, sharing the gospel, prayer, and repentance become ways to earn favor with God rather than to meet with Him and be changed by Him.
*We record all our messages and publish them as podcasts on both Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Check us out by searching BHBC High School niteLIFE. Here’s our ROI feed: https://bhbc-studentgroups.squarespace.com/recordings?format=rss
Parents, here are some questions you can ask your students in response to the message:
What does it look like to live out the Christian life with a performance-based mentality?
**specifically: reading the Bible, going to church, sharing the gospel, prayer, and confession/repentance.
What does it look like to live out the Christian life with a motivation to be in the presence of God?
**Using the same five categories as the above question.
